There are several ways to charge crystals and using the full moon is an excellent way to do this. The moon’s energies are at their strongest as moonlight increases and as a full moon approaches, it is a perfect time to tap into those energies. In this article, I show you how to charge your crystals using the full moon.
Why you need to charge your crystals
When you have been using your crystals for sometime, the positive energies within them may become depleted. Charging them regularly will keep your crystals at optimum levels and working effectively for you.
If you buy or are given a crystal, it is vital you cleanse, charge and programme it before first use, as it is likely to have picked up energies from other people. Your crystal may have absorbed negative energies and it is best to clear these before you use it. Following these three important steps will ensure your crystal will work for you.
The energy of the moon
As the moonlight increases from a new moon to a full moon, so do the natural energies. It is best to charge your crystals during the waxing moon, up to and including the night of the full moon. This is in order for your crystals to be exposed to the highest levels of the moon’s natural positive energies.
How to charge your crystals using the full moon
- Cleanse your crystals before charging them, to remove any unwanted energies that they may have absorbed, so that they will work most effectively for you.
- It is best to charge your crystals over a three night period. Start two nights before the date of the full moon, with the third and final night being the night of the full moon.
- You may wish to carry your crystals around with you for a few days before charging. Place them into your pocket, but be careful they don’t come into contact with any metal objects that might damage or scratch them.
- You can place your crystals into one of the following: a pot of soil, directly into the ground in your garden, or in a bowl with natural salt. This is representative of the crystals originally and naturally coming from Earth and supports the charging process.
- Alternatively, you can place your crystals on a windowsill, where they will get the maximum level of exposure to the moonlight.
- The day after the night of the full moon, your crystals will be charged. Remove them from the soil or salt and gently wipe them with a soft cloth if they have any residue soil or salt on them.
- After charging, you will need to programme your crystals before use. This is a process to enable your crystal’s energy to be focused and used for your intended purpose.
Following the three steps of cleansing, charging and programming your crystals, will ensure they are ready and working effectively for your intended use.
